Our Talented Vineyard & Cellar Crew

Producing Lange wines would simply not happen without these gentlemen – Alfredo, Enrique, Carlos, and Gerry (not pictured). They seamlessly go from stewarding the vines through each growing season, to the cellar for harvest and bottling, and everything in between. All three are AHIVOY graduates and our longest tenured team members. They are men of many talents, and to say they are hard-working would be putting it lightly. Photo credit @lelanea.

Jesse Lange
Winemaker / Winegrower

After formal training at Lincoln University in New Zealand and two years refining his craft at Santa Barbara Winery in the late 1990’s, Jesse returned to winemaking in Oregon at Lange Estate—the family business he would eventually lead.

Jesse’s ascent has been shaped profoundly by founders Don and Wendy Lange, pioneers who helped establish the Dundee Hills as a world-class winegrowing region. Jesse now carries that legacy forward—respecting the foundation they built while guiding the modern evolution of a family brand. His winemaking philosophy reflects this balance: innovation grounded in tradition, anchored by intimate knowledge of the Dundee Hills terroir and a commitment to expressing it honestly in every bottle. Jesse’s wines are a dialogue between generations, upholding time-tested techniques while embracing the possibilities born of creativity and forward thinking.

Jesse’s has played an instrumental role in the continued development of the Oregon wine industry. He has served as President of both Oregon Pinot Camp and the Dundee Hills Winegrowers Association, and as a board member of the Willamette Valley Wineries Association, delivering hundreds of presentations on the region’s history, geology, and sustainable viticulture. For Jesse, winemaking is a long conversation between the land, the season, and the vintner’s hand—work he’s dedicated his life to mastering while stewarding Lange Estate toward an even brighter future.

Away from the winery, Jesse seeks out the same qualities he values in wine: clarity, balance, and a sense of place. Whether fly-fishing, scuba diving, bow-hunting, or simply anything outdoors, he finds renewal in nature. He and his wife Jessica do their best to keep pace with their two children, Skylar and Caden—both of whom, unsurprisingly, share the family enthusiasm for wine-grapes!
