Jesse Lange
Jesse Lange began learning viticulture and winemaking at a very young age, earning pocket money by hoeing the vineyard. A bit later a grant from Oregon State University helped him gain formal winemaking training at Lincoln University in Christchurch, NZ. He then worked in the cellar at Santa Barbara Winery for two years before returning to Oregon to join the winemaking team at Lange Estate, assuming more responsibility with each successive year. In his role now as the head winemaker he is responsible for winemaking and vineyard management, plus overseeing national and international distribution and sales.
Jesse has played an instrumental role in the development of the Oregon wine industry as President of Oregon Pinot Camp, President of the Dundee Hills Winegrowers Association, and board member of the Willamette Valley Wineries Association. He enjoys fly-fishing, scuba diving, running, and just about anything halfway athletic and fully outdoors. Jesse and his wife Jessica do their level best to keep up with their two young children, Skylar and Caden, who, by the way, both love grapes!
