In 2008, Lange Estate Vineyard achieved the highest level of viticulture certified sustainability through the Low Input Viticulture and Enology (LIVE) program, and has continued to pass the stringent requirements every year since.

As part of our LIVE certification, we are proud to be Salmon-Safe certified as well. Salmon-Safe certification for winegrowers focuses on reducing runoff from hillside vineyards and enhancement of native biodiversity on vineyard sites.


Solar Panels

The installation of our 41 Kilowatt solar system has recently been completed at the winery. This array of solar panels will cover half of our electricity needs and keep thousands of pounds of CO2 out of our atmosphere. Additionally, we have 12 kilowatts of solar panels on our properties. Our combined 53 kilowatts of solar energy has the yearly
CO2 cleansing ability of 13,780 trees!


ECO SeriesTM Glass

In an effort to reduce our carbon footprint, we have made the decision to bottle the majority of our wines in ECO SeriesTM glass. These bottles reduce stress on the environment by using recycled glass, optimized and green energy in manufacturing, and lighter weight glass (reducing the transportation impact). Glass is also a 100% recyclable material, and we encourage our customers to recycle their wine bottles after they have enjoyed what’s inside.


More Sustainable Practices

Lange Estate has installed a water retention system off the roof of our barn, allowing us to reuse rain water for irrigation and spraying, instead of pulling water from the well.

During harvest, we compost all of the stems, seeds, and skins left over from crush for use in the vineyard to aide in growing the next season’s crop. We also compost organic waste from the kitchen and take pride in recycling as much as possible, including used foils/capsules from our bottles.
